The clips are positioned underneath and between the tile edges. A wedge is then inserted through the opening in the clip. By tightening the wedge, adjacent tiles are clamped in relation to each other, bringing the tile edges to the same height.

The clip has two functions:

• it helps reduce height differences between adjacent tile edges;
• the thickness of the clip determines the grout joint width between the tiles.

Once the tile adhesive has cured, the clips are broken off. The wedges are reusable and can be used again for your next tiling project.

Choose the clip according to the grout joint width required for your tiling project and check beforehand that the tile thickness falls within the system’s specified range.

How do you use Tiling Buddy?

Tiling Buddy works according to the principle of a tile levelling system with clips and wedges:

1. Position the clip underneath the edge of the first tile.
2. Place the adjacent tile against the clip.
3. Insert the reusable wedge through the opening in the clip.
4. Tighten the wedge evenly to level the adjacent tile edges in relation to each other.
5. Allow the tile adhesive to cure according to the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Remove the clips according to the recommended procedure and keep the wedges for your next tiling project.

For wall tiles, the wedges can be pressed into place by hand. For other applications, adjustable plastic pliers can help tighten the wedges evenly and in a controlled manner.

A tile levelling system does not replace a flat substrate or correct adhesive application. Always make sure the substrate is suitable and install the tiles in accordance with the instructions provided by the tile and adhesive manufacturers.
