Tiling Buddy wedges are an essential part of the Tiling Buddy Tile Levelling System and are used together with Tiling Buddy Spacer Clips. They apply even, controlled pressure to adjacent tiles, ensuring precise alignment and a perfectly level finish.
The deep ribbed profile provides a secure grip inside the Spacer Clips, allowing consistent pressure to be applied throughout installation. This eliminates lippage and ensures accurate levelling for a clean, professional result.
Manufactured from durable polystyrene, the wedges are designed for repeated use. Their robust construction and excellent wear resistance allow them to be removed easily after installation and reused on future projects. Combined with Tiling Buddy Spacer Clips, they provide a fast, accurate and reliable tile levelling solution.
Always apply sufficient tile adhesive and place the first tile. Check that the tile is perfectly level before continuing.
Slide the clip(s) underneath the tile and press the tile down gently. Place the next tile after positioning the clips. Make sure the tile is placed on top of the clip base. Depending on the tile size, place one or more clips along each side. Tap the tile into position.
Slide the wedge through the opening of the clip. Use leveling pliers to push the wedge through the clip with sufficient force until the tiles are perfectly flat. Tip: Do not remove the wedge yet.
Leave the wedge in place for less than 24 hours after tightening. Once the tile adhesive is ALMOST fully cured, the clip and wedge can easily be removed with a rubber mallet or your foot. Tip: Always break the clip and wedge in the direction of the joint. Remove the wedges from the clips. The wedges can be reused.
The number of clips and wedges required depends on several factors, including the tile size and the total area to be tiled. Refer to the consumption guide below to calculate the required quantity.
Step 1Measure the length and width of your tile. Then locate these dimensions in the consumption chart alongside. The point where the two measurements intersect indicates the number of clips required per m2.
Calculate the total area to be tiled in m² by multiplying the length by the width of the area.
Multiply the number of clips required per m2 (from Step 1) by the total area to be tiled (from Step 2). This gives you the total number of clips required for your project.
