The Levelit anti-scratch shield protects sensitive tile surfaces while using the wedge or twist system. It is ideal for polished tiles, natural stone, and other scratch-sensitive materials.
Technical specifications
The Levelit anti-scratch shield provides extra protection when installing delicate and scratch-sensitive tile surfaces. Positioned between the leveling system and the tile, it prevents direct contact with the tile finish while tightening the system.
This makes the anti-scratch shield particularly suitable for polished ceramic tiles, natural stone, marble, and other sensitive materials. The shield is compatible with Levelit, XL, XXL, Tiling Buddy, and Helix wedge and twist systems. Made from durable material, it can be reused multiple times, combining maximum protection with an efficient, professional workflow.
Always apply a sufficient amount of tile adhesive and lay the first tile. Ensure it is perfectly level before continuing with the installation.

Slide the clip(s) underneath the tile and press the tile down gently. Once the clips are in place, position the next tile, ensuring it rests on top of the clip base. Depending on the tile size, use one or more clips on each side. Tap the tile gently into position.
Slide the anti-scratch shield over the clip and insert the wedge through the opening in the clip. Use a tile levelling plier to push the wedge firmly into the clip until the tiles are perfectly level.
Tip: Do not remove the wedge yet.

Leave the wedge in place for less than 24 hours after tightening. Once the tile adhesive is almost fully cured, remove the clip and wedge by striking them with a rubber mallet or by kicking them with your foot.
Tip: Always break the clip and wedge in the direction of the grout joint.
Remove the wedges from the clips. The wedges are reusable.

The number of clips and wedges required depends on various factors, such as the tile size and the total area to be tiled. Please refer to the consumption guide below.
Step 1Measure the length and width of the tile. Then, locate these dimensions in the calculation table adjacent to this section. The point where both measurements intersect indicates the number of clips required per m².
Calculate the total area to be tiled in m² by multiplying the length by the width of the room.
Multiply the number of clips per m² (from Step 1) by the total area to be tiled (from Step 2). This will provide the total number of clips required for your project.
