- Which spike length do I need?
The correct spike length depends on the application depth of the self-levelling compound. As a general rule, deeper applications require longer spikes to release trapped air effectively.
- 2–5 mm application depth: 11 mm spikes
- 5–15 mm application depth: 21 mm spikes
- 15–25 mm application depth: 31 mm spikes
Choose a spike length suited to the application depth. Spikes that are too short may not release trapped air effectively, while excessively long spikes may come into contact with the substrate.
- Which roller width should I choose?
The most suitable roller width depends on the size and accessibility of the area.
- 230 mm spiked roller: Suitable for smaller areas and confined spaces where greater control and manoeuvrability are useful.

- How do I clean a spiked roller?
Clean the spiked roller immediately after use with clean water. Self-levelling compound can harden between the spikes, making the roller more difficult to clean and potentially affecting its performance.
Rinse the spikes and frame thoroughly, removing any residue before it hardens. Allow the roller to dry completely before storing it. Regular cleaning helps maintain the spikes and keeps the roller ready for future use.
