Once you have chosen tiles, it’s just a matter of quickly getting to work. So, where do you start and what’s the best way to go about it?
The two methods generally involve a mortar bed or a screed (concrete floor). The mortar bed method is quite difficult. And, once the tiles are fixed in place, it will be difficult or impossible to rectify uneven tiles.
The so-called screed method is quite a bit more dependable. A screed is a floor covering of sand, cement, and water. This is applied to the underlying support floor to smoothly flatten out unevenness and level differences or to raise a floor to the desired height.
