The\u00a0grout\u00a0you need depends on factors such as the\u00a0grout joint width, type of tile, application and load on the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tiled bathroom floor, for example, may have different requirements from a terrace, garage or other heavily loaded floor. For outdoor applications, the grout must be suitable for the conditions to which the tiled surface will be exposed, such as moisture, frost and temperature fluctuations. With underfloor heating, it is also important to use a grout that is suitable for this application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are several types of grouting materials. Common options include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cement-based grout:<\/strong>\u00a0widely used for grouting ceramic wall and floor tiles and available for different joint widths and applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Epoxy grout:<\/strong>\u00a0offers high resistance to moisture, dirt and chemicals and is therefore used, among other applications, where high levels of hygiene or chemical resistance are required. Its application differs from that of cement-based grout.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ready-to-use grouts:<\/strong>\u00a0depending on the product, suitable for specific applications and substrates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Always check the manufacturer&#8217;s technical specifications and choose a grout that is suitable for\u00a0your tiles, grout joint width and application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to grout floor tiles: step-by-step guide<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Step 1: How long should you wait before grouting after tiling?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do not start grouting immediately after installing the tiles. The tile adhesive must have cured sufficiently before you finish the grout joints. How long you need to wait depends on the tile adhesive used, the substrate, tile size and drying conditions.\u00a0Always follow the drying time specified by the tile adhesive manufacturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Step 2: Clean out the grout joints<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before grouting, check that there is no\u00a0tile adhesive, dust or dirt\u00a0between the floor tiles. Remove any adhesive residue and clean the joints thoroughly. Work on a manageable area at a time and take the working time of the grout into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong>&nbsp;Do not prepare more grout than you can use within the specified working time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Step 5: Clean the floor tiles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the grout has firmed up sufficiently, clean the tiled surface with a damp <a href=\"https:\/\/levelit.eu\/be-en\/product\/hydro-sponge-float-28-x-14-cm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sponge float<\/a>.
